Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities

Within the boundaries of our geographical area, a patient has the Right to be registered with a Doctor, change Doctor, be offered a health check when joining the Practice, receive appropriate medical treatment, be referred to a specialist and have their medical records correctly maintained.  A patient has the responsibility to be courteous to all staff, attend appointments on time, be aware of a clinicians allotted time, provide 48 hours’ notice for repeat prescriptions and only use the out of hours service for urgent medical attention.

Zero Tolerance

We have a Zero Tolerance with regards to violence or abusive behaviour towards any member of staff, or other service users. A verbal warning could be issued to anyone who threatens staff on or off the premises. Any further incidents will result in an escalated process involving the local health board and could lead to a patient being asked to leave the Practice. If this occurs, the patient will need to seek future health services directly from the local health board.

Suggestions & Compliments

We welcome constructive suggestions from patients wishing to help us improve our services. There is a suggestions box and suggestions book in reception. If you have concerns about any of our services, please speak to any member of staff. Misunderstandings can often be resolved informally.
